Step 1: Breaking Out

For block paving or tarmac the normal procedure for a basic driveway is to dig out the the spoilage or existing driveway to the correct depth.

Adhesive procedure

It is possible to adhere tarmacadam to existing driveways, if the foundations are solid enough.

Step 2: Removal of broken out materials

The driveway is broken up and the materials removed.

Step 3: Laying weed protection and stone

After the area is treated with weed killer and a weed protection membrane is laid. A good covering of aggregate is laid, compressed with a high compression roller.

Step 4: Laying of tarmacadam or block paving

The job is now ready for the laying of tarmacadam, sand and/or blocks. With regard to block paving a sand base is laid first, then the blocks laid on top in a pattern of your choice.

With tarmac, first a base course is laid, this is a larger and courser stone than the finishing top coat stone.

Step 5: The completed driveways

For tarmac, everything is laid to the correct levels and all compressed with a roller, or wackered and jointered in the case of block paving.

For a job that is GUARANTEED to last.
